China today has 7,000 collectivized villages where all property is municipal, residents live in identical apartments, and workers are paid in coupons, not currency. These atavistic communities decided to readopt Mao's strict policies, unwound elsewhere in the country since 1979.

Las preguntas son ¿la decisión de pertenecer a esas comunidades es individualmente voluntaria? ¿el disidente puede elegir irse de esa comunidad a otra que no siga esas reglas?
