A cara descubierta

Para mi la postal más impactante del cambio en Londres no fue ni el London Eye, ni el Millenium Bridge, ni el Tate Modern, ni siquiera The Yard.
Fue la escena de montones de seres encapuchados, recorriendo Harrods y llenado hasta el tope bolsas con artículos de lujo.

Hoy leo que desde el propio Islam, se lanza una campaña para eliminar el uso de la burkha:

"The increasing fashion for young Muslim women in Britain to wear the burka (in contrast to their mothers, who do not) is one of most sinister developments of our times. Supporters of this garment like to pretend that it is a welcome symbol of our society’s multicultural diversity and philosophical tolerance. But such warped thinking is woefully misguided. In reality, the burka is an archaic tribal piece of cloth that is eagerly used by fundamentalist zealots to promote a toxic brand of extremist non-Koranic theology.(...)

Contrary to the claims of its advocates, it has nothing to do with Islam but is a cultural fad imported from Saudi Arabia and primitive parts of the Islamic world. Me gustó lo que dice este tipo, que coincide con lo que yo sostengo al respecto. Y que básicamente se resume en que no se puede confundir al Islam con el fundamentalismo islámico.

Islamterra, fábrica de terroristas

Ever since I told the US website The Daily Beast that Britain was a cesspit and a breeding ground for fundamentalist Muslims, people have been asking me what I meant: “Why do you, a Nobel laureate, say such things? Where’s the evidence?”

So let me clarify: I was responding to a question about what I thought about Nigeria, my home country, being placed on a US watch-list of states deemed to be incubators of Islamist terrorism. The listing — which puts Nigeria into a club whose members include Afghanistan, Somalia and Yemen — followed the failed attack by the Nigerian student Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the young man who boarded a plane with a bomb in his underpants.

I believe it was irrational to point the finger of suspicion at Nigeria because this young man — the so-called Christmas Day bomber — was not radicalised in Nigeria. Everything we know about Abdulmutallab suggests that it happened in London, where he went to university.

The same is true of the shoe bomber, Richard Reid. And of the extremists who bombed the London Underground and the buses in July 2005. (A Nigerian was killed in those bombings.) The terrorists who primed a car found outside a London nightclub in 2007 with petrol containers, gas canisters and nails were based in Britain. If Nigeria qualifies for a place on the US list of terrorist countries then, admit it, Britain is overqualified.

De ataúdes y ladrillos

Un grupo islámico denominado islam4uk, que es una organización fachada del grupo islamo-fascista al-Muhajiroun, quiere marchar a través de Wootton Bassett llevando "ataúdes simbólicos", como una protesta contra la participación británica en curso en la guerra civil afgana contra los talibanes.

Mi sugerencia es que la gente buena de Wootton Bassett responda tirando "ladrillos simbólicos" a los manifestantes islamo-fascistas, en caso de que efectivamente marchen por las calles de esa ciudad. Sólo ladrillos simbólicos, por supuesto, hechos de bizcochuelo... o tal vez ladrillos de buena tocineta inglesa o mantequilla danesa porque estoy seguro que los muchachos alegres de al-Muhajiroun entendrán la broma ... no ladrillos de verdad, porque no queremos ningún islamo-fascista con su cerebro golpeado por nuestras bromas alegres ... Bueno, no, mientras están en Gran Bretaña por lo menos.

Pero lo que realmente me gustaría ver es a Islam4uk realizar una marcha llevando ataúdes simbólicos a través de una calle en el hermoso centro de Bazarak en la provincia de Panjshir en Afganistán. Casi todo el mundo ahí es musulmán, así que, qué podría salir mal, ¿eh? Vamos, muchachos, hagan la prueba.

Hate preacher Anjem Choudary sparked fury yesterday after calling for the Queen to become Muslim.
He demanded an Islamic revolution across Britain.
Choudary, 42, said Her Majesty -head of the Church of England- should convert to ensure her place in paradise.
He also wants to see senior members of the Government switching faiths.
Choudary, a key henchman of rabble rousing cleric Omar Bakri, said: 'We invite everyone from the Queen, to the ministers, to the Parliament, to the aristocracy, to the ordinary person in Britain to embrace Islam'.
'Save yourself and your children in this life from misery and prepare them for a great destiny in the hereafter'.
'Britain does not need a new leader, it needs a revolution - an Islamic revolution'.

A radical Muslim group sparked outrage last night as it launched a massive campaign to impose sharia law on Britain.
The fanatical group Islam4UK has ­announced plans to hold a potentially ­incendiary rally in London later this month.
And it is calling for a complete upheaval of the British legal system, its officials and legislation.
Members have urged Muslims from all over Britain to converge on the capital on October 31 for a procession to demand the full implementation of sharia law.
On a website to promote their cause they deride British institutions, showing a mock-up picture of Nelson’s Column surmounted by a minaret.
Plans for the demonstration have been ­delivered to the Metropolitan Police and could see up to 5,000 extremists marching to demand the controversial system.
The procession -dubbed March 4 Shari’ah- will start at the House of Commons, which the group’s website describes as the 'very place where the lives of millions of people in the UK are changed and it is from here where unjust wars are launched'.

Siria envía 'misioneros' islamistas a la Gran Bretaña.
Está prohibido por ley enviar misioneros cristianos a Siria u otro cualquier país musulmán, pero el gobierno de Siria fortalecerá la propaganda del Islam en el Reino Unido apoyando 'la participación de los misioneros sirios residentes en Gran Bretaña, en la formación de predicadores en las escuelas y los centros islámicos británicos, que se encuentran entre las medidas acordadas en este campo'.

Siguiendo el hilo de este post, el delicado tema de las 'misiones' y demás inventos que no son otra cosa que actos de penetración ideológica políticamente correctos.
Desde ya llama la atención la asimetría, porque en tanto en Siria como en cualquier otro país islámico si alguien oficia de misionero lo decapitan en un sencillo trámite.

Bueno, la libertad de expresión en el Reino Unido -y en el resto de Europa- hace ya bastante tiempo que se esfumó.
Los ejemplos abundan.
Incluso las cárceles trasladan los sanitarios para que no apunten a La Meca, y en los colegios desde hace rato está rigurosamente prohibido el cuento 'Three Little Pigs', para no despertar la ira de los musulmanes.
Me pregunto si respetar al Islam significa asumir sus normas, costumbres y prohibiciones.
